Aula 4 - Números Ordinais em inglês - Inglês do básico ao avançado

 Hoje vamos aprender a escrever e a pronunciar os números ordinais em inglês - de 1 a 150. 

Os números ordinais são usados para colocar as coisas em ordem: 1º, 2º, 3º colocados no Campeonato Brasileiro, por exemplo.  Em inglês os números ordinais também são usados para datas.

É importante saber disso para um diálogo não ter erros. 

Números ordinais em inglês do 1º ao 10º

Observe: os três primeiros números em inglês são diferentes dos demais, veja abaixo

1st - first 

 primeiro

2nd - second 

segundo

3rd – third 

terceiro

4th – fourth

5th – fifth

8th – eighth

10th – tenth

 

Se liga! a partir do 11º ao 19º você só precisa acrescentar o th, exceto em 12, que você troca o "v" por “f” twelfth (12th).

11th - eleventh – décimo primeiro

12th - twelfth – décimo segundo

13th – thirteenth – décimo terceiro

14th – fourteenth – décimo quarto

15th – fifteenth - décimo quinto

16th – sixteenth - décimo sexto

17th – seventeenth - décimo sétimo

18th – eighteenth - décimo oitavo

19th – nineteenth - décimo nono

Números ordinais em inglês do 20º em diante

De 20 ao 90 a letra “y” do final, como no numero cardial 20 (twenty) é substituída por “ie” (20th -  twent-ie-th). Repare que na troca do cardinal para o ordinal troca o y pelo ei, e adiciona th, isso até o 90.


20th – twentieth – vigésimo

30th – thirtieth - trigésimo

40th – fortieth - quadragésimo

50th – fiftieth - quinquagésimo

60th – sixtieth - sexagésimo

70th – seventieth - septuagésimo

80th – eightieth - octogésimo

90th – ninetieth - nonagésimo

De 100 em diante:

100th - one hundredth 

 centésimo

110th - one hundred and tenth 

 centésimo décimo

200th - two hundredth 

ducentésimo

500th - five hundredth 

quingentésimo

1000th - one thousandth

100,000th - one hundred thousandth

Números compostos em inglês, exemplo: 45º, é só dizer forty-fifth. Com três casas decimais, como 182º, one hundred and eighty-second.

Summary of the book Macunaíma, Mário de Andrade, 1928 The story begins in the Amazon, where Macunaíma was born as a lazy Indian.
