Summary of the book Macunaíma, Mário de Andrade, 1928 The story begins in the Amazon, where Macunaíma was born as a lazy Indian. He is gifted with magical powers and, after the death of his mother, embarks on a journey in search of the magical amulet she left him. During his journey, he meets various strange characters and experiences various adventures, including a fight against the giant Piaimã. Throughout the story, Macunaíma undergoes se veral transformations and ends up becoming white. He also becomes involved in a love triangle with the Indian Ci and the white Veiuda. In the end, Macunaíma is killed by an enemy, but resurrects as a constellation in the sky.
